  Mixed thoughts re: Silentlambs group

  a person has to be a bit nieve to think that if the wt suddenly gave into all of the demands of silentlambs that silentlambs would somehow cease to exist and or let up their pressure on the society.. i think there is a broader agenda here, one that includes a measure of revenge against the wt and one that won't stop until they are out of business.

  no child is truely protected or safe when they are raised in a cult.

  a logical extention of silentlambs would be expanding their agenda to include the blood issue and children.. it is this obvious broader agenda the silentlambs group has that invites criticism from active witnesses.

  You just proved Path's point by your post.

  I think your efforts are noble, but, Pathothorns makes valid points.

  I agree with alot of his post and I'm a survivor of molestion, plus have family members who were violated by a pedophile and the elders.

  I think you cause should be neutral. It should be comfortable for believing JW who are looking for help in the pedophile issue, but wish to remain JW. Because you are a JW supporter does not make you a child moleters, most do not even have a clue about this issue.

  My father who is an elder, agree that there are problems. But was turned off by the TOTAL anti WTBS of the Silent Lamb site.

  Bill, please do not take this comment as being critical of your work, but please see that their are other ways to see this issue.

  I found that site today and it was interesting. I have a friend that live in Allen and my husband's exwife live in Duncanville. I like Allen, but Duncanville was ok (some parts).

  I'm a ex-jw who is currently living in the Washington DC area. My husband and I are relocating to the Dallas, Texas area in July.

  I'm looking forward to meeting up with any ExJW who live in this area. But, I also have questions about which areas are best for a family with children (schools). I'm looking in the Plano area, any suggestions? Any leads about jobs? (Hubby has one, job would be for me)

  Anyway, any information that you can spare, will be greatly appreciated.

  And another difference is:

  They kicked the pedophile out of the organization, into the real world. And once that person is thrown out of their organization, they no longer have an interest (ONLY if he/she is disrupting them, the hell with the rest of the children outside of their organization).

  But SAY that they do their ministry because they "LOVE" people. (IT'S JUST SICKENING) What we want the general population to know, is that those nice people knocking at your door are not what they seem.

  CourtTV - A JW Case

  last night (9:30pm est), courttv did a story of a woman who left home when she was a teenager.. she got involved with drugs and prostitution.. she soon gave birth to a child.. she stopped using drugs and quit being a prostitute and took up a job as a waitress.. she now gave birth to a son.. fast forward six years.... she began studying with jehovah's witnesses.. she was applying for something (maybe welfare, i'm not sure.

  i ran to use the bathroom during the commercials and when i came back out the narrator had already said what she was trying to apply for).. the narrator said that whatever she was applying for required that she disclose who the father is and explain why she is not collecting child support.. the father of her son was a married police officer who had an established family and a distinguished career.. she consulted the elders as to what she should do.

  they told her that she needs to be honest and that she shouldn't lie on the application.. so, she set up a meeting with the baby's daddy (the cop).

  This murder happened in the city I was raised in. She use to attend the Mansfield South Congregation.

  When this happened, my mother told me about the circumstances. The elders told her that she should reveal who the real father was, because she was applying for child support.

  I don't think she was raised a JW. Because Mansfield, Ohio is a small city and I would have known her.

  Now that I think about when this happened. My mother commented that sometimes the elders need to stay out of peoples business. She stated, that it was obvious that the girl was afraid to reveal the father.

  Are JW Kids Worse Disproportionately?

  in a conversation with my son, we were going over all the young people he grew up with that were jws.

  there seemed to be an inordinate proportion of felons among them, compared to the "worldly" people in his school.

  and also compared to the people at work that i know whose kids are doing fine now.. our tentative theory is that raising kids as jws can be very damaging to many of them.

  I believe they are worse.

  I know in my own experience. I know the reason why I ended up pregnant at age 18. Instead of being able to enjoy my nice boyfriend in normal healthy environment (movies, dinner, etc.). I would have to sneak at his apartment, behind closed office buildings, etc., because I was not suppose to be dating a worldly guy.

  I never wanted to have sex with him. Mainly because I was afraid of pregnancy. But what else is there to do. So after a year of creative sneaking. My nature took over and I had sex and voila I'm pregnant after the first time.

  I have a 15 year old son whom I have discussed sex and to protect himself with a condon and that I feel sex should only take place between responsible people (anyone ready to take on the responsibility of raising a child).....well he explained to me that he has had sex and he did use protection and it's something that he did enjoy. But I did not have to worry, because he is respectful of young women. And he was not up to all of the drama it take to get the his girlfriend to give it up. (lol)

  Then my brother, who quit going to the hall after he turned 18. Told me that it was much easier getting some from the witness girls, than it is with the so-called worldly girls (and that it cost more).

  i just wanted to tell you that i found information in an old catechism.

  basically, it shows that *some* archdioceses abstained from meat on all fridays prior to vatican ii.

  it is up to the bishop of each archdiocese and most dioceses in the roman catholic rite in the us had that.

  I agree not to ague the point. But I grew up with alot of Catholics and THEY DID PRACTICE the NO MEAT on Fridays.

  If you are in America, most people cook and eat Fish on Fridays. I know my family does and we were no where near Catholic.

  The Catholic practice is why MOST people have Fish on Fridays in America.

  Oprah and My Mother

  my mother just called...as she does 2-4 times a week to tell me that "you must watch oprah!

  " my mother is in chicago, where oprah is broadcast live.

  i live in est where oprah is on in the afternoon.
